What Makes Pest Control Here Its Own Thing

Most of what we get called about inside the city comes back to the age of the housing. Roughly 31 percent of Hamilton County's housing stock was built before 1950, against about 9 percent in neighboring Clermont County. Older houses mean block and stone foundations, more mortar joints, settled grading and original trim — more ways in, and more places to hide once they're in.

Then there's how much of the city is attached or multi-family. A neighbor's problem becomes yours through a wall void or a shared plumbing chase, and that's as true of bed bugs as it is of roaches and mice. When we treat a unit in a building, we want to know what's happening on the other side of the wall.

Season matters too, but not the way people expect. The first freezing night at the Cincinnati airport normally lands around the 25th of October, which is when the mice and the overwintering insects start looking for a way in. German cockroaches, on the other hand, never came in from the cold at all — they live indoors year-round, so a January kitchen sighting means something arrived on a bag, a box or a piece of furniture.

What we handle in the city

Pest Control Services for Cincinnati Homes & Businesses

  • Bed bug treatment

In attached buildings we ask about the neighboring units too, because one treated apartment rarely holds on its own.

  • Termite inspection

Roughly a third of Hamilton County housing went up before 1950. Older framing, settled grading and original trim give termites more ways in than a newer build does.

  • Cockroach control

German cockroaches can't survive a Cincinnati winter outdoors, so a January sighting means they came in on something — groceries, furniture, or a shared wall. Baiting beats spraying every time.

  • General pest prevention

The regular perimeter work that keeps spiders, silverfish and the autumn arrivals outside, timed around the first freeze rather than the calendar.

  • Ant control

We identify the species before treating anything: different ants want different things, and the wrong bait does nothing at all.

  • Rodent control

Trapping is the easy half. Finding the gap they came through and sealing it is the half that lasts.

  • Wasp & hornet control

Late-summer nests under eaves, porch roofs and deck rails, taken down by someone with the gear rather than a can and a ladder.

Questions

Cincinnati Pest Control Questions

How quickly can you get to a Cincinnati address?

Inquire about same-day availability — the fastest way to find out is to call 513-987-9329. If we can't get there today we'll tell you when we can, rather than leaving you guessing.

I am renting in the city. Whose responsibility is pest control?

Inside the City of Cincinnati, the housing code requires the owner or operator to exterminate insects, rodents and other pests on the premises. Notify your landlord in writing and keep a copy. That code doesn't apply outside the city limits, so check locally if you're elsewhere in the county.

Do you work on apartments and multi-family buildings?

Yes, and it changes the plan. Pests move between connected units through wall voids and shared plumbing, so treating one unit in isolation often means being reinfested from next door a few weeks later.

Do you serve small businesses in Cincinnati?

Yes. We work with homeowners and small commercial properties — kitchens, offices and storefronts — across Hamilton County and the wider metro area.

Is it worth calling if I have only seen one?

With some pests, yes. One German cockroach usually means an established population you haven't seen yet, and one termite swarmer near a windowsill is worth an inspection. We'd rather look and tell you it's nothing.
